What are seamless steel pipes and where are they usually used

1. Why is it called channel steel


The stainless steel tube is made of whole glass with no seams on the surface. Stainless steel pipes are divided into galvanized pipes, hot-dip galvanized pipes, cold-drawn pipes, extruded pipes, jacking pipes, etc. according to the production method. Welded pipes can be divided into trapezoidal and special-shaped according to the cross-sectional shape. Special-shaped pipes have many complex shapes, such as long strips, trapezoids, rectangles, polygons, medlars, rings, and wing-shaped pipes. The maximum diameter is 650mm, and the minimum diameter is 0.3mm. According to different uses, there are special-shaped tubes and thin-walled tubes. Angle steel is mainly used for welded pipes for petroleum geological drilling, cracking pipes for petrochemical industry, boiler pipes, bearing pipes, and high-precision structural square pipes for automobiles, motorcycles, and aviation.


2. Where is channel steel commonly used?


Channel steel is widely used. General-purpose angle steel is rolled from ordinary carbon structural steel, low-alloy structural steel or alloy structural steel. It has the largest output and is mainly used as the main pipe or cover for material transportation. Divided into three types according to usage: A. Supply according to chemical composition and mechanical properties; B. Supply according to mechanical properties; C. Supply according to hydraulic test. If angles supplied in Grades A and G are intended to withstand hydraulic pressure, a hydrostatic test shall also be carried out. 3. Special-purpose stainless steel pipes include boiler angle steel, pipeline power square pipe, geological steel plate, petroleum angle steel, etc.


3. Why many people choose steel plate


Stainless steel pipes have a hollow section and are widely used to transport solutions such as petroleum, diesel, ammonia, water and some solid substances. Compared with solid steel such as steel plate, steel plate is lighter in weight under the same bending and torsional strength, so it is an economical channel steel.


4. For mechanical construction


Widely used in the manufacture of parts and mechanical parts, such as oil drilling tools, automobile chassis, motorcycle frames, steel scaffolding for construction, etc. It can improve the utilization rate of raw materials, simplify the manufacturing process, and save materials and man-hours. Alloy pipes have been widely used in the manufacturing industry.


5. Welded pipe manufacturing process

Generally speaking, the production process of welded pipe can be divided into cold drawing and thin wall. The production process of cold drawn steel plate is generally more complicated than that of alloy. The cold drawing should be rolled by three rolls first, and then the sizing test should be carried out after extrusion. If the surface does not respond to cracks, the welded pipe will be cut by an impact drill, and the wire that grows about one meter will be cut. Then enter the annealing process. After annealing, pickle with acid solution. When pickling, pay attention to whether there are a lot of water bubbles on the surface. If there are a lot of bubbles, it means that the quality of the alloy pipe cannot meet the corresponding standards. In appearance, the thin-walled stainless steel pipe is shorter than the cold-drawn channel steel, and the wall thickness of the continuous casting welded pipe is generally smaller than that of the large-diameter steel plate, but the surface looks brighter than the spiral welded pipe, the surface is not too rough, and the diameter does not have too many burrs.


6. Welded pipe quality inspection


The delivery state of the large-diameter square tube is generally hot-dip galvanized state, which is delivered after heat treatment. After quality inspection, the thin-walled welded pipes are strictly made and selected by the staff. After the quality inspection, the surface is oiled, and then several cold drawing experiments are performed. After thin-wall treatment, a perforation test should be carried out. If the piercing diameter is too large, it should be straightened and corrected. After straightening, it is transported to the flaw detector for flaw detection test. Finally the labels are applied, the specifications are sorted and put into storage.
