Core parameters of 18ga galvanized steel sheet
Thickness specification
The standard thickness corresponding to 18GA (wire gauge) is 1.2-1.3mm. The specific thickness may vary slightly due to the galvanizing process.
Ordinary steel plate: 1.2mm (corresponding to 0.0478 inches)
Galvanized steel sheet: 1.3mm (corresponding to 0.0516 inches), the galvanized layer will increase by approximately 0.1mm in thickness
Coating grade and performance
Coating standard: The common galvanizing amount is Z275 (total weight on both sides 275g/m²), corresponding to the international standard G90. The salt spray test life can reach over 50 years.
Material selection
Base material: DX51D (cold-rolled low-carbon steel), Q235B (General structural steel)
Coating process: Hot-dip galvanizing (SGCC) has better corrosion resistance than electro-galvanizing (SECC) and is suitable for outdoor scenarios.
